Abstract

Developing information and communication technologies is bringing new jobs together with many opportunities. Emerging new sectors are creating new skilled workforce needs in labor life. Especially, increasing need for qualified workforce is triggering the importance of university graduates which is required for the new emerging jobs and sectors.

The aim of this paper is to understand whether the university students, who are still studying, have the statistically meaningful expectations from working life according to their department, age, gender and class variations. In this study, the survey related to understanding future expectations of the students was gathered by a literature review and then implemented. The survey was implemented at Economics and Administrative Science, Law and Engineering Faculties in Yalova University. In the first part of the study literature is reviewed and in the second part, the survey and its findings are exercised.
