Abstract

Turkey and Japan have been put under microscope in order to examine the effects of the specific culture of an organization on its employees. Culture and society are two integral and indivisible notions, one interlaced in the other. In this sense, societies differ from each other because of the different cultures, structures and systems they have. These differences are also reflected in the organizational cultures. For this reason, it is important to and evaluate the different cultures of two different countries in order to specify the loyalty and commitment of employees in workplaces. To this end, academic studies carried out in these two countries in this field have been reviewed; the notions of ‘’unity of family’’, ‘’unity of faith’’ and status in an organizational structure in terms of Japanese Organizational Culture were scrutinized and compared with those values within the Turkish Organizational Culture. Thus, it is aimed in this study to examine the role that intra-organizational cultures played/can play on the loyalty and commitment of employees in workplaces on the basis of the findings of the examination executed on the organizational structures of these two countries.
